On July 9, 2025, the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art (UMOCA) hosted its first virtual information session for the Assemblage Art Fund—a new grant program designed to support visual artists and collectives in Salt Lake County. We’re excited to share that a recording of the session is now available for anyone who couldn’t attend live or who would like to revisit the discussion.
Led by UMOCA Grants Manager Grace Whatley and joined by Curator of Exhibitions Jared Steffensen, the session introduced the Assemblage Art Fund’s goals, eligibility requirements, and application process. Attendees also got an early look at examples of creative, collaborative projects that this new fund aims to support—projects that expand the possibilities of contemporary visual art and intentionally engage new and diverse audiences.
Created in partnership with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts through its Regional Regranting Program, the Assemblage Art Fund will award 6–12 grants annually, offering $5,000 Process Grants and $10,000 Project Grants to help bring new ideas to life.
The recording includes:
-
An overview of the fund’s mission and history
-
Detailed information about eligibility and how to apply
-
Insights on what makes a project a good fit
-
